Via San Romano
Via San Romano
Artery of the city that communicated the market square and the port.
Via San Romano takes its name from the church of the same name, already existing in the 10th century and built before the cathedral (from the 12th century). One of the busiest commercial arteries, where many houses with arcades appear.
Street that dates back to the 12th century Ferrara and that was the main link between the market square (the current piazza Trento e Trieste) and the port, located where via Ripagrande is today.
At the end of it was the San Romano gate, currently missing.
